How to Turn Off Mozilla Firefox Automatic Update

If you feel disturbed by the auto update feature of Mozilla Firefox, here I am telling you how to turn off the auto update feature.

In Mozilla Firefoz Browser, there are actually three different Automatic Update that can be enabled or disabled independently. They are Automatic updates for Firefox itself, for Installed Add-ons, and for embedded search engines.

And these are steps to configure the automatic update.

1. from Mozilla Firefox menu bar, click on Tools and select for Options.

2. On the Options window, select the Advanced and point to Update bar.

3. Now on the Update setting, you can select what Automatic Update feature you want to enable or disable. Simply check features that you need and leave the rest unchecked.


4. Click OK to save your new configuration.

How to Turn Off Adobe Auto Update

For some reasons or issues, people sometimes wants to disable or turn off program's auto updater. In the case of Adobe softwares, or more specifically Adobe Reader, these are the steps to turn off the auto update.

1. Open the application (Adobe Reader). Click Help on the Menu bar, and select "Check for Updates..."



The software will then try to check for an update, and a progress bar is shown.


2. After checking for updates, it shoud come up with another window in which you should click on the link: "Preferences"



3. Uncheck the Option of "Automatically check for Adobe updates" on the Adobe Updater Preferences window, and click "OK"

Lion Air's Boeing MD-90 being grounded by Indonesian Government

The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation temporarily grounds all Boeing MD-90 aircraft operated by Lion Mentari Airlines (Lion Air). All Lion Air's Boeing MD-90 aircrafts are temporarily being prohibited to serve commercial flights. Those airplanes will be reviewed by the Ministry of Transportation.

"Inspection will be done during the three-four days" said General Director of Air Transportation - Ministry of Transportation, Herry Bakti S Gumay in Jakarta, Tuesday (March 10, 2009).

This grounding is associated with an accident of an MD-90 aircraft with flight number 937 at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Monday. Two weeks earlier, other MD-90 also failed landed at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam. In addition, the General Director said, the pilot operating the unlucky aircraft will also be grounded for a month.

Lion Air Emergency Landing without Front Gear

A Lion Air passenger aircraft MD-90 (now Boeing MD-90) on 23rd Feb 2009 landed at Batam airport without its front landing gear extended. The emergency landing resulting in damage to the undercarriage and the airport having to be closed.

The Aircraft with flight number JT-972 was carrying 162 passengers when made an emergency landing at Hang Ngadim Airport in Batam, Riau, Indonesia. No one on board was injured during and after the emergency landing.

The Lion Air operates some MD-90 and older MD series aircrafts, but start phasing them out and replace them with the newly purchased Boeing 737-900ER.

Drupal Facebook Connect Module

Drupal as the best website/blog content management system (CMS) is now found its way to talk with facebook.com, the most active social networking websites. Integration of drupal powered website/blog with facebook is mainly to allow visitors to log in to a site using a Facebook account. It means that users can access a Drupal-powered website using their Facebook username (emaila address) and password. Just like OpenId, this is helpful that users do not need to register with a drupal website.

Facebook is constantly working in expanding their footprint beyond the social networking services. In early December 2009, Facebook announce a new feature for developers. The feature is called Facebook Connect, released and announced on the blog on 4th December 2009.

Rihanna cancels Indonesia and Malaysia concerts

Once again, the R&B star Rihanna has postponed her concert in Jakarta. This is the second time Rihanna cancelled the concert. The first was in November 2008 and now she repeat in just one day before.

It was scheduled on February 12, 2009 and then canceled just one day before the concert. Another scheduled concert in Malaysia (13 Feb 2009) also canceled. There is a rumor that Rihanna's concert were canceled because of an assault case involving Rihanna's boyfriend.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, known as Rihanna, is a 20 years old Barbadian singer. She created Rihanna Believe Foundation in 2006 to terminally ill children. She also serves as the cultural ambassador.

What would you do if you have an unlimited access to internet all the time?

Having blackberry or other PDA in your hands that lets you stay in touch with all your online buddies through an always connected service. Or working in an IT related company with broadband internet access in both office and apartment.

I've found myself trapped in a situation full of addiction, isolation, a waste of time in such life. Facebooking, browsing and googling for nothing, jumping from one website/blog to another till drop, and finally realized it is not the life I want to live.

I desperately need a change of my life and therefore I start building blogs.
